AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Every day after school students at all of our locations receive help with homework, participate in extracurricular activities, and interact with positive role models.

Students enrolled in our after-school program participate in age-appropriate lessons and activities related to literacy, math, science and the arts. We emphasize leadership development, spiritual formation and social emotional learning in every aspect of our programs.

Our team spends time with students teaching a variety of lessons, including music, coding, poetry, gardening, science, and more.

HOW IT STARTED

Harvest Hands after school program began in 2008 as a response to the observation from our neighbors that the kids in our community simply needed something constructive to do after school. Our research confirmed that in the unsupervised hours between school and parents returning home from work, violent juvenile crime triples and children face the most danger of becoming victims of crime. In response to this voiced concern for the children and youth of the neighborhood, we responded by starting an after school program. Since 2008 we have served over 1,000 students and families in our programs.
