Leader Spotlight | Damani

Six years ago, Damani—now a senior at Trevecca Nazarene University—began attending Harvest Hands open gym nights. After connecting with our staff, he learned more about Harvest Hands and wanted to get more involved, so he began working at Humphreys Street Roastery.

After high school, throughout his time at Trevecca, Damani has interned in Harvest Hands’ after school and summer programs, worked as a referee in Empower Sports, and volunteered at special events. Damani has been a consistent, helpful, hard-working asset to the Harvest Hands team for several years, and this spring we were thrilled to hire him as the part-time Empower Sports coordinator.

healthy communities need strong leaders.

Many positive leaders in urban neighborhoods leave their community, creating a leadership vacuum. We believe it is essential to the development of our community to raise up local leaders who give back to their neighborhoods.

Damani is just one example of a Harvest Hands student who grew up in our community who is now reinvesting in the next generation. Your generous support allows us to create opportunities for students like Damani to hone and utilize their leadership skills.

Will you join us by investing in the lives of our students and the future of our communities?
