1. Grow spiritually and socially through fellowship and discussion
2. Develop relationships with caring adult mentors
3. Give young men a community wherein pressing issues can be dealt with in relationship to others committed to each member's guidance and support.

The hope of this program is that all of our students would find the support they need in order to become men committed to Christ, the South Nashville community at large and Christian virtue in daily life.
An integral part of the MIMIC program is developing the earning potential of our students by providing valuable job training and experience through the Humphreys Street Coffee Company. It is important that the young men in the program are equipped to succeed vocationally so that they can secure the economic stability needed to flourish in their daily lives.

WOW Mentoring program
spacer
WOW! (Women of Wisdom) is the mentoring program of Harvest Hands that focuses on the young women in South Nashville. WOW! focuses on young ladies ages 10-18 and our hope is that the girls of WOW! come to know their value and worth as women and daughters of Christ. We seek to encourage them spiritually, academically, and relationally. Each week we share a meal together with the young men in the MIMIC mentoring program, engage in group games and discussions, and then split off for "girls only" time. This time is spent praying together and building deeper relationships with God and each other.

We also value the importance of teaching the young ladies and women in our community job skills and basic business training. We seek to do this through WOW! Soap, which is our micro-business of making all-natural, handmade soap. As a WOW! student each young lady learns the art of making, marketing, and selling our soap. Profits from soap sales provide jobs for the teens and ladies, a college scholarship fund and an investment back into Harvest Hands.

Weekly Neighborhood Lunch
spacer
Our weekly neighborhood lunch exists to bring community to the staff, neighbors, and volunteers of Harvest Hands and to provide a place of fellowship for our community. It happens Mondays at 12 noon, August-May, and Mondays at 11:00 am, June-July. Each week volunteers provide a nice meal that brings together neighbors living in the Wedgewood Houston, Vine Hill and Chestnut Hill neighborhoods. It's a time to share good food, good conversation and meet new neighbors!
