WOW! Soap
spacer
WOW! Soap is the micro-business that is part of the WOW! mentoring program of Harvest Hands, pairing young ladies with adult female mentors who encourage them spiritually, academically and relationally. As a WOW! student, each young lady will learn the art of making, marketing, and selling all-natural, handmade soap. WOW! Soap is handmade by both teenage and adult ladies in South Nashville. Profits from soap sales provide jobs for the teens & ladies, a college scholarship fund and an investment back into Harvest Hands.

Why should you use WOW! handmade soap?
Handmade soaps retain all of the glycerin produced during the soap making process due to the low temperatures of manufacture. Glycerin is a natural emollient and humectant, which means it promotes moisture retention on the skin
Many commercial soaps are actually comprised of detergents and chemicals that can irritate or dry out the skin
Our handmade soaps are crafted out of the finest of oils and are made of only plant materials

Affordable Housing Ministry
spacer
The purpose of the Harvest Hands Affordable Housing Initiative is to create more opportunities for indigenous neighbors to have safe, affordable, quality housing and to preserve the integrity of the neighborhood through collaboration and resident participation. In our service area, Harvest Hands will concentrate on purchasing vacant lots, abandoned housing, and problem properties.
spacer
To promote stability and create affordable home ownership opportunities for our neighbors, we intend to continue purchasing land in our neighborhood and slowly begin developing houses at lower costs. The development will honor the integrity of the neighborhood by reflecting local architecture and incorporating neighborhood feedback. The goal is for Harvest Hands families to benefit from this development by the opportunity for homeownership and increased neighborhood stability. Through an ongoing partnership with each family, Harvest Hands will work to support them educationally as a homeowner. We also will place a deed restriction on those properties to ensure multigenerational affordability.
spacer
We are currently partnering with a number of nonprofit organizations to support us in our first development, but will eventually evolve into a self-sustaining affordable housing program.
